I have been using this pencil exclusively since 1987 or 88.
The key features to me are the large eraser, but even more importantly, the 0.5mm lead in a RETRACTABLE head, so it doesn't punch holes in my shirts!
Several companies have introduced their version of this Skilcraft 5mm pencil, but they either don't compare or have taken them off the market such as PaperMate. I was a little shocked at the price of the these pencils per box, but unfortunately they simply are the best.
Marketing Information
Dual-Action Mechanical Pencil features a shock-absorbing tip that reduces lead
breakage. Sliding sleeve retracts automatically to protect your pocket and prolong write-out without
advancing the lead. Refillable mechanical pencil has a cushioned grip that helps reduce writing
fatigue. Pencil features a push-action lead with a twist-action, extra-large (1-1/4") vinyl eraser. Rubber grip barrel provides writing security and comfort.
Review:
Simple mechanical pencils that get the job done while looking nice. Many pencils have small
erasers with short length. They make erasures time consuming and require too frequent
replacement. Some have caps that have to be removed before you can use them. These Skilcraft
pencils are great. They feed easily, they are comfortable and they satisfy my desire for good
design.
